Here it characterizes, according to the typology of the CORINE Land Cover base of the observation and statistics service (SOeS) of the Ministry for the Environment, the surface of a river basin. This typology distinguishes five major types of land cover in particular: urbanized areas, agricultural areas, forests and semi-natural areas, wetlands and aquatic environments.
