Characteristic and representative subspace of the measuring station clearly identified and located to perform repetitive measurements for having an in-depth knowledge of the environment at the location of the station. Measurement sites are also places on the station where the sampler will make, whenever possible, its samples or in situ measurements. A site is usually dedicated to a substrate: water, sediments, Bryophytes, etc. A substrate may be collected in several sites. Each measurement site can belong to one or more measurement networks and may be used once or more times by each of them for which the period or periods of belonging will be specified.Source
