Population

In the hialeutic sense, a group of individuals that actually reproduce (or have the physical possibility to) among themselves and thus pass on their inherited traits to their offspring. This group is relatively isolated from other similar reproduction units. In some cases, because of the complexity of identifying individuals in the group, it may be acceptable to restrict the term by associating to it the name of the geographical area of the studied group.
