Waterproof underground pipe that collects wastewater from an urban area and evacuates it to a treatment plant before its discharge into the natural environment. The term "direct to sewer" is false: not everything can be discharged into the sewers (solvents, white spirit, etc) at the risk of disrupting the orderly operation of the wastewater treatment plant.Source
