Shoreline

For some people, it is a belt between land areas and constantly submerged areas. For others, the littoral is limited to the coastline, to the foreshore, or otherwise extends to all lands which are influenced by the presence of the sea. From a legal standpoint, the shoreline includes all natural sites by the sea whose particular situation gives them an exceptional quality which deserves to be protected.
