Subscriber

A natural or legal person who has taken out a subscription with the public water or sanitation service operator. By definition, subscribers are served by the operator. They may hold several subscriptions for the same service in different geographical locations. Subscribers may be individuals, co-ownership associations, local authorities for municipal needs, businesses (services, industries), farmers (irrigation), etc. Subscribers lose their subscriber status when the service is stopped, regardless of their billing status (they are no longer served, but their account may not yet be settled).
