Updated on 05/03/2026
Définition
Sens commun

A method of managing a public service whereby the management of the service and the construction of infrastructure are contractually entrusted to a concessionaire acting at its own risk and remunerated by billing users of the service, such as drinking water, sanitation, etc. This is the definition of the term in the French context. In fact, the term concession in the European context (concession directive) tends to replace the term public service delegation.
