A watercourse being part, with the State-owned lakes, of the Public Waterways Domain (DPF). We distinguish: (i) the State-owned watercourses listed on the nomenclature of waterways (the Minister for Transport is responsible for their management: the State shall take care of the maintenance of these waterways and navigation structures for allowing navigation; (ii) the State-owned watercourses removed from the nomenclature of waterways, but kept in the DPF (the Ministry for the Environment is responsible for their management: the State is required to do the necessary work to maintain the natural flow capacity of these watercourses); (iii) the State-owned watercourses conceded by the State to local authorities for their maintenance and use.
