BOD capacity

Définition
Sens technique
Total amount of oxidizable matters that a wastewater treatment plant must daily treat with some effectiveness. For biological treatment plants, the BOD capacity is, in most cases, limited by the oxygenation capacity, i.e. the amount of oxygen that can be introduced into the water to maintain the concentration of oxygen at a suitable level.
