Line essentially distinguishing the public maritime domain (at its downstream part) from the public waterways domain (if the stream is state-owned) or from the private domain of riverside residents (at its upstream part). The maritime lateral limit is the real limit in the domestic law governing maritime activities, and is used as a reference to determine the "sea shore" communities according to the Coastal Law.
